Curaçao is 444 square kilometers in size and has about 150,000 friendly inhabitants. This 61 kilometer long island is 5 to 14 kilometers wide and is about twice the size of Terschelling. Curaçao, affectionately called 'dushi Kòrsou' (beautiful island) by the residents, is truly an ideal holiday island.
The international character on the island is reflected in the mixed population, the range in the shops and the many nice restaurants. In recent years there has been a clear culinary growth of restaurants and a vibrant nightlife.

THE LANGUAGE ON CURAÇAO
The local language is Papiamentu, an independent language that originated from Spanish, Portuguese, English, French and Dutch. Curaçaoans generally speak several languages, including at least Dutch and English.
THE ISLAND
Curaçao is an active and attractive island for young and old. Tourists can therefore spend a wonderful holiday on the island at one of the beaches and dive sites. But visitors can immerse themselves in the relaxed tropical island life, which is very internationally oriented in Curaçao.
During the day you can enjoy strolling in the lively districts of Punda and Otrobanda (part of the capital Willemstad).
There is also plenty of natural beauty in the undeveloped 'mondis' (countryside) of Curaçao, with surprisingly tropical nature.

We (Chiel and Nancy) are familiar with the island. Nancy was born on Curaçao and Chiel has a passion for the island as if he was born there. SMALL CURACAO
The wet dream for everyone who loves pearl white and azure blue. Unlike on Klein Bonaire, where there is really nothing at all, there are some facilities here on Klein Curacao. If you are on the island a bit longer, make a day trip to Klein Curacao anyway. Wandering through the old, pink(ish) church and regularly dipping into the sea: perfection!

Mambo Beach – Marie Pampoen- On this beach you will find many shops, restaurants and you will be served deliciously from your beach bed with a cocktail or an ice-cold beer.

Playa Porto Marie – Sint Willibrordus- this beach is known because of 2 pigs that live in the vicinity of this beach

Playa Grandi – West Point- It is teeming with turtles and you are guaranteed to encounter one while snorkeling.

Daaibooi Beach - Banda Abou- A small, and still quite undiscovered beach but one of the most beautiful. It is quiet without fuss. The water is shallow here. And that is not only nice for the small stuff, but also for the snorkeling fans among us. On the beach a number of umbrellas and some small bars, nothing special just relaxed as we are used to from the island. You will find many cliffs here and if you look very closely you might see a hawksbill turtle, which nest in this bay

Blue Bay- On Curacao they are good at making a kind of 'gated communities' where you have to identify yourself to enter and where the (holiday) houses are rather on point. Within such a place you will also find Character, but Blauwbaai is also one of them. And here you will also find a nice lunch restaurant where everyone can go, even if you don't have a house or room in the associated hotel. And then you have a paradise piece of snow-white beach in front of you. And a delicious uncomplicated lunch.
